MUSEUM OF THE PEACE CORPS EXPERIENCE
In 1999 a group of returned Peace Corps Volunteers in Portland, Oregon, established the Committee for a Museum of the Peace Corps Experience. The group managed acquisition of objects, organized professionally curated exhibitions, and pursued funding sources.
The Portland committee expanded its membership and vision to the national level in 2016. Representatives from around the country met prior to the Peace Corps Connect 55th anniversary conference in Washington, DC, to strategize how to launch a national collaboration. The following year, the committee gathered for its first in-person planning retreat in Denver, in conjunction with the 2017 Peace Corps Connect.

PEACE CORPS WORLDWIDE
Peace Corps Worldwide celebrates the Peace Corps experience by publishing stories from around the world by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), and Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs), to share with all who have a desire for international understanding.
This effort is at the heart of the Third Goal of the Peace Corps — to “bring the world back home.” Publicizing the writings of RPCVs and PCVs, all their novels, short stories, essays and poetry is a positive way of educating Americans about the world, an essential Peace Corps Third Goal activity to provided a link between the cultures of the world and our culture.
All work done for Peace Corps Worldwide is volunteer.

This online magazine is an outgrowth of the print newsletter Peace Corps Writers that was first published in 1989 by John Coyne and Marian Haley Beil (both Ethiopia 1962–64) to promote, encourage and recognize Peace Corps writers. In the duration the effort has expanded to do all that as well as to share news and information about the Peace Corps, assist the members of the Peace Corps community bridge cultures as they fulfill the Third Goal of the Peace Corps, tell the incomparable stories that come from the Peace Corps experience, and more recently publish their books.
No one needs to join, but every one can belong. All it will cost you is your time and interest — that means no membership, no sign up, no joining, no log on, no dues! Our bloggers post articles on no particular schedule, so we hope our readers will visit often to read what’s new. Glad you found us.

TCP Global has more than twenty years of experience building zero-overhead, sustainable micro-loan programs and recently passed the $1 million milestone in loans issued. Our team recently expanded to include six evacuees who added new energy to our loan program. We have no paid staff and 100% of donations are distributed as micro-loans with nothing withheld for overhead in the U.S. or abroad.
The National Peace Corps Association serves as the fiscal agent for TCP Global, which is one of its Community Fund partners. The long-term vision is to join forces with other RPCV-led projects to provide not just micro-loans but also improve health care, environmental protection, water and sanitation, electric and internet connectivity and education to improve the quality of life in small and remote communities so that migration will one day be a choice rather than a necessity. The NPCA provides grants and support for RPCV initiatives that may one day join our efforts.
